DAY 1: Arusha To Materuni Waterfalls For Chagga Tribe Visit, Hiking and Coffee Tour
After breakfast, then the tour departs for a day of hiking, coffee, and a cultural tour at Materuni.
Basically, the village is found at the downslope of mount Kilimanjaro.
While at the village we will have a high time hiking to the waterfalls and enjoying the scenic downfall.
That water is melting ice from the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Moreover, will visit a coffee plantation and learn from residents how they plant, treat, and harvest the coffee, how they dry it, and how they make coffee locally until it comes to your cup ready to drink.
Basically, you will undertake all the processes with assistance from locals.
Likewise, will enjoy local traditional dishes as lunch at the village, and more importantly, will test local brew and local beer too
Thereafter will drive to Olpopongi Maasai hostel and village for dinner and overnight.
On arrival, a Maasai singer will sing beautiful Maasai welcome songs and dances.
Thereafter, will check into your room. Then shortly after a shower, you will have local dishes as dinner, and enjoy a campfire with songs, dances as well a barbecue.
As long as you are in the Maasai community, you are likely to enjoy the history of Maasai handed to you by the elders and thereafter you will go to sleep
DAY 2: Olpopongi Maasai Village To Arusha
Firstly You will wake up in the morning and see how the day starts in Maasai village.
Uniquely, women will go to milk the cow.
Secondly, young girls help with house chores including a tender for children and collecting some firewood, and then, young boys go out to graze the goats, sheep and young animals and finally men go out to graze the cows.
We will follow all these programs and later after will enjoy local dishes at Maasai village and drive back to Arusha at the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Arusha To Lake Eyasi For Hadzabe Tribe Visit
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take off to Lake Eyasi for a Hadzabe village visit and cultural experience. further, it takes 6 to 7 hours to arrive at Lake Eyasi.
Then after arriving, in the late afternoon will check in at the lodge or campsite, and then enjoy lunch and rest for a bit.
Additionally, later evening you will explore Lake Eyasi by walking on the shore and admiring what nature is capable to offer and then return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Lake Eyasi To Babati
On this day you start early with your bushman guide to meet a group of resident Hadzabe people. You are likely to enjoy walking with the Hadzabe into the bush, the only remaining, hunter and gatherer community in East Africa.
The Hadzabe move their encampments with the seasonal movements of the wildlife and they speak click voice like that of the bushmen of Kalahari.
With a local guide who communicates the Hadza language, we learn about their tradition and their total way of life.
On this trip we engage in hunting, you will get a chance to track the wildlife, traditionally make fire, and even take honey from bee nests in the Hadzabe way.
Return to the camp for lunch then afternoon proceed to Babati for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Babati to Kateshi
This tour starts with a 70-kilometre ride from Babati to Katesh. Enjoy your lunch in a local restaurant. From here the walk will start and it takes 16 kilometres towards the Mang’ati plains.
We will walk up Dirma, a Barbaig nomad village, where you will be warmly welcomed at an elder house known as Mzee Gavachu’s boma.
It is normal that within a short time, you will see Barbaig women and men coming to see their new guests and greet you warmly.
A Barbaig local guide assists to translate where only the Barabaig language.
While Seated on three-legged stools waiting for your dinner, a bed with skin only is waiting for you in the hut overnight.
Day 6: Kateshi to Arusha
Today you will walk back to Katesh where you will enjoy lunch and further take transportation to Arusha at a hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Arusha to Mwanza
Today we catch a bus to Mwanza which is about 450km, you will arrive in the late evening and will straight go and check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Mwanza Cultural Tour
Mwanza is located in the extreme northern part of Tanzania’s mainland, predominantly covered by African greater Lake Victoria. The location strategically ensures a clear fresh breeze, a friendly humidity in particular, and a nice temperature all year round.
The town appears to look onto the lake, which grants holistic views of the granite outcrop, famously known as Bismarck Rock.
Mwanza is a key crossroad player in the region with a railroad that connects Tabora, Dodoma, and Dar es Salaam. Mwanza also connects to a busy port with ferries to Ukerewe Island, Bukoba, and Kamanga, and directs to Uganda in Port Bell.
It is Africa’s largest tropical lake and the second-largest freshwater lake in the world that covers 69,000 square kilometres.
Lake Victoria is predominantly the source of the great Nile River. It is in Mwanza where John Speke, sir Richard Francis Burton travelled in the eighteenth century and discover the source of the Nile river
Mwanza is full of diverse scenery, plants, flora, history, minerals, and countless natural features.
Mwanza never falls short of cultural tourist attractions, historical sites as well as museums. When you are in Mwanza, you can’t avoid Bujora Museum Center; This is the Sukuma museum located in Kisesa.
This area is where all history about the Sukuma tribe is provided as raw as it is; the Sukuma tribe is the largest in Tanzania and predominantly takes a great geographic area along the country.

This village is a part of the Sukuma Kingdom. Historically, The Sukuma land contains 52 separate and independent kingdoms and one of the smallest is this particular one.
Kageye is predominantly the oldest historical site in Tanzania. Kageye preserves the memory of those unfortunate and innocent victims of the slave trade.
This is the place is where they were enchained for the long and cruel journey to the cost of about 1,200kilometress which separates Kageye and Bagamoyo.
A graveyard of Frederick Barker, an explorer who died of dysentery on April 23, 1875, is found here.
Missionary John Smith, died on May 11, 1877, together with other men who were black buried at Kageye place.
Famous explorers passed by Kageye, including Dr Fisher, a German who passed there in December of 1885.
Day 9: Bukoba Cultural Tour

Firstly For five centuries Kagera Region nine different Kingdoms have existed and it is a highly hierarchical society.
It was at that time coffee was introduced in place as a cash crop and raw bananas as a staple food.
The ethical Kings live in elaborate palaces and were highly respected because there existed a myth to have a direct link to God for power and glory.
The fall of the kingdoms, namely Karagwe, Kiziba, Kyamtwara, Misenye, Bugabo, Kihanja, Bukara, Ihangiro, and Biharamulo came soon after Tanzania’s independence in 1961 because they lacked historical roots.
Cultural Tour At Kagera
You can engage in Traditional Dance which is “Ngoma”. Traditional dances come in a variety and styles including Amayaga, Omutoro, Amakondele, Akasimbo, and Mulekule.

Now, most of the construction uniquely undergoes brick houses and iron sheets or tile roofs.
There existed craftsmen dealing with basketry, pottery, canoe, and boat building together with other forms of crafts and art.

Drum Making Workshop
