Day 1: Dar Es Salaam to Uluguru Mountain and Choma Waterfalls
On the starting day, our professional safari guide will pick you up from an agreed point, may it be a hotel, or ferry for those who are coming from Zanzibar or the airport. After picking up the tour will depart to Morogoro at Choma waterfalls. This authentic waterfall is approximately 4 hour’s drive from Dar es Salaam. We will have a brief stop at the Msolwa area and enjoy a hot lunch and proceed to the Choma waterfalls. We will arrive in the afternoon hours at the base of the mountain and start hiking.
Hiking Uluguru
On arrival at Uluguru, you will meet your local guide at the starting point who will furnish you with an appropriate briefing about the hiking. The hiking will start while the guide enlightens you about aspects you need to know. The guide will share with you his knowledge about bird species, important herbs and medicines plants found around the area and their significance to local communities. This is indeed a brilliant way to get close and learn more about local people in the mountains area. A hike will take you to Choma Waterfall or take an alternative way to Lupanga Peak which is about 2150m above sea level, and this is a great and recommended way to spend the day along the Uluguru. This is in particular more of a walkthrough village than a true “hike” through dirt treacherous terrain trails. You will enjoy the hiking and spend an unforgettable experience at Choma waterfalls and later in the evening, you will drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: A Day Game Drive At Mikumi National Park
On this day you will be picked up from the hotel at 6:00 am after breakfast and the tour will depart at Mikumi National Park entrance gate. The tour will offer an unlimited full-day game drive in the Park. In the park, expect to see lions, zebras, elephants, gazelle, wildebeest, eland, giraffe, hartebeest, buffaloes, more than 300 different species of birds and packs of wild dogs which find their home here and the open horizon of Mkata Floodplain plain that accommodate abundant of wildlife. You will enjoy lunch inside the park at one of the beautiful restaurants found within the park, and the safari will proceed until late evening to explore what nature will offer then we will drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Maasai Village Visit and Drive Back to Dar Es Salaam
After enjoying the hot breakfast at the hotel, the tour will start by visiting the Maasai village, you will be exposed to the traditional life of Maasai, and learn about culture, traditions and norms, after short time of engaging with Maasai, the tour will depart heading back to Dar es Salaam with quick stopover along the way for lunch. We will arrive in Dar es Salaam in the evening. The tour will end at your hotel, airport or ferry for the one who goes back to Zanzibar.
